Trona Earthquake Update No. 3

  • Red
    Cross Emergency Response Vehicles (ERV) have been traveling through the
    community of Trona and assisting where needed. They have been handing
    out water, snacks, and clean-up kits to residents in need.
  • One
    Red Cross ERV has been sent to Trona High School, 83600 Trona Road, to
    supply sandwiches and Meals Ready to Eat (MREs), 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily
    until potable water service is restored.
  • Pacific
    Gas & Electric reported that all natural gas service has been
    restored to the Trona area. For residents needing gas restoration, call 1
    (800) PGE-5000 and ask for earthquake restoration services.
  • Bottled water is available for residents and their animals at Trona High School 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
  • Behavioral Health staff will be available at Trona High School for any residents needing support services, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • The
    water main received extensive damage and is still being repaired. We do
    not have an estimated time of service restoration. Updates will be
    provided as we receive them.
  • County
    Supervisor Lovingood met with first responders and community leaders in
    Trona Saturday. He continues to work to obtain additional resources for
    Trona.
  • There
    is still work underway to establish a cooling center for residents to
    use during the heat of the day. A couple of sites being considered are
    currently being assessed.
  • The
    Office of Emergency Services is in process of considering establishment
    of a Local Assistance Center (LAC) for Trona residents to have a
    one-stop location with resource information for needed assistance.
  • Portapoties have been delivered to the Trona area.
  • Ridgecrest Regional Hospital has re-opened
  • Argus Avenue between Sage Street and Wildrose Street has re-opened.
  • If
    residents need a cool place to go, the Kerr McGee Community Center
    located at 100 W. California Avenue, Ridgecrest, is open to all
    residents.
  • A
    once-a-day shuttle will depart from Trona High School at 10 a.m. and
    return from the American Red Cross Shelter in Ridgecrest ‪at 12:00 p.m.
    (noon). The Victor Valley Transit Authority will be providing the
    transportation service.
  • There
    are services for Disaster Health, Mental Health, and Spiritual care
    available at the shelter located at Kerr McGee Community Center.
  • Southern
    California Edison has restored electricity to Trona. If additional work
    requires electricity to be shut off, we will provide updates as we
    receive them.
