This evening the City Council at 6PM at cityhall, entertains the lomming passage of and ordinance to endanger your children because they are afraid of a little lawsuit. Never bothered them before.

Repeal of Chapter 11.32 of the Municipal Code – Residency Restrictions for Registered Sex Offenders.

RECOMMENDATION: The City Council repeal Chapter 11.32 of the Municipal Code – Residency Restrictions for Registered Sex Offenders, as set forth in Ordinance No. ___ to be consistent with the holding of In re Taylor, a 2015 California Supreme Court case that was cited in a May 2017 letter to the City threatening litigation over the residency restrictions for sexual offenders in Chapter 11.32 of the Municipal Code.

The council would do right to protect taxpayer’s funds. The Cal. supreme Court decision is law of the land; the city already has been notified they city will be sued if they don’t conform local codes or continue to have illegal residential restriction as is now in place. The city would be negligent to expose the city a law suit as threatened.
