DATE/TIME: June 14, 2018, 5:00 a.m.

INCIDENT: Three arrested for Receiving Stolen Vehicle & Conspiracy to Commit a Crime

LOCATION: 61800 block of Sunburst Circle, Joshua Tree

SUSPECT(S): Bruce Johnson, 30 years old, resident of Joshua Tree
Danny Myers, 40 years old, resident of Joshua Tree
Jaime Risnes, 22 years old, resident of Joshua Tree

SUMMARY: On Thursday, June 13th, at approximately 5:00 a.m., an anonymous citizen contacted the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department to report two male subjects were concealing a gray Honda Civic behind a residence with tarps and plywood. Prior to law enforcement arrival, a blue sedan entered the property and parked in the driveway.

Deputies Jeffrey Dieckhoff, Eric Gonzales, and Ryan Arthurton from the Morongo Basin station responded to the location and observed two male subjects, later identified as Bruce Johnson and Danny Myers walk from b ehind a shed on the property. Deputies also observed a white female adult, later identified as Jaime Risnes sitting in the front driver’s seat of a blue Hyundai sedan parked in the driveway of the residence. During the investigation, deputies discovered a gray Honda Civic hidden behind a shed and covered with tarps and plywood. A record’s check of the vehicle revealed it was stolen on May 27, 2018, from a residence in Cathedral City, CA. The ignition key for the stolen vehicle was located during a search of Bruce Johnson’s person. Deputies searched the blue Hyundai Risnes was driving and discovered the trunk contained parts belonging to the victim’s vehicle.

Deputies contacted the owner of the stolen Honda Civic and confirmed Myers, Johnson, and Risnes did not have permission to have his vehicle. Bruce Johnson, Danny Myers, and Jaime Risnes were arrested for violation of PC 496d(a) Receiving Stolen Property and violation of PC 182(a)(1) Conspiracy to Commit a Cri me. They were transported and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail where bail was set at $25,000.00 each.
