SUSPECT(S): Jinjer Carter, 32 year old female resident of Brea, CA
VICTIM(S): 3 year old child, 5 year old child residents of Yucca Valley, CA

 

SUMMARY: On August 2, 2017, at about 4:43 p.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station, responded to the town of Yucca Valley, to assist the San Bernardino County Fire Department with juveniles having trouble breathing. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered the children were being babysat by neighbors, including Jinger Carter. Investigators learned Carter had consumed and smoked products containing THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), the principal pyschoactive constiuent of cannabis, near the children. The children ingested and possibly inhaled substances containing THC, and displayed signs and symptoms of being under the influence of marijuana. The children were tran sported to Hi-Desert Medical Center for treatment. Deputy R. Nerenberg obtained a search warrant for the residence. A search was conducted and multiple products containing THC were recovered inside the residence. The products were found in areas which were easily accessible to the children. Carter fled the area, prior to deputies arrival.
