SCOTUS Rules In Favor of Trump Wall

The Supreme Court has ruled in favor for President Donald Trump‘s plan that would divert money earmarked for the Pentagon to use to build 100 miles of a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico.

In a 5-4 vote, the Court lifted an injunction granted by a federal judge in Oakland and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals that barred Trump adminstration officials from using the military’s money for his border wall project.

President Trump celebrated the victory on Twitter shortly after the decision was handed down.

“Wow! Big VICTORY on the Wall. The United States Supreme Court
overturns lower court injunction, allows Southern Border Wall to
proceed. Big WIN for Border Security and the Rule of Law!” Trump wrote.

The administration asked earlier this month for the justices to temporarily pause the lower court’s rulings that blocked them from tapping into the funds for the border wall’s construction. The funds consisting of $2.5 billion or that money would not be available after the new fiscal year began.
