Save the Desert from Solar Mania

Share with:

Tomorrow, Tues. 3/13/18 at 10 AM, a group of us High Desert residents from the Victor Valley to Morongo Basin to Barstow and Newberry Springs is going to once again pressure to County Board of Supervisors (BOS) to direct the County Land Use Services dept. (LUS) to present a proposal numbered section 4.10 as an amendment to the County’s Renewable Energy Conservation Element (RECE) to the County Planning Dept. Section 4.10 is our ONLY protection against being blanketed by what’s now grown to 20 SQUARE MILES of solar farm applications just between Lucerne Valley and Newberry Springs alone. Not included in that total are MASSIVE solar farm applications in Johnson Valley, also. Either, by design, or some other reason, the County is stalling on a decision and is hanging us out to dry!

If you can, please join us at either the San Bernardino County Government Center, 385 N Arrowhead Ave., San Bernardino, CA 92415, or more conveniently for most of us at the remote video conference room at the Jerry Lewis High Desert Government Center, 15900 Smoke Tree St., Suite 131, Hesperia, CA 92345, or the Bob Burke Joshua Tree Government Center, 63665 Twentynine Palms Highway, Joshua Tree, CA, 92252.
I plan to be at the Hesperia site and Pat Flanagan at the Joshua Tree site. We can line you up. We NEED YOU to show up and speak out.   Thanks,   Bill
