Saturday 29 Palms: Luckie Park and the new Johns Place restaurant are bustling

I spend a few hours shopping and dining in Twentynine Palms today. Two places in town were bustling with locals, parents, visitors, travelers and lots of hungry folks.

Luckie Park and Johns Place were happy places with happy people.  The rest of the city was pretty much inactive but for Staters Bros. shopping center.

All the sports areas at Luckie Park had were packed with young ball players, friends, family, and people interested in youth sports. All the fields were packed.

The new restaurant in 29, JOHNS PLACE, is owned and managed by the same Johns Place in Yucca Valley. Same great menu with most anything you would like to order. The parking lot was full. My entrée was outstanding. The service was excellent. And my dog, after being check out for her registration and photo, was made to feel comfortable and welcome.

As many may know, for decades John in Yucca Valley has provided free thanksgiving breakfast and a free Thanksgiving dinner — all in the same day — for anyone who walks through the doors.

We are very fortunate to have this outstanding restaurant in Twentynine Palms. The city has great parks surpassed by none. [Although the million dollar plus new dog park has serious problems.]
