SUMMARY:

On April 27, 2020, deputies assigned to the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station responded to a residential robbery in the 3700 block of Lucerne Vista Avenue in the unincorporated county area of Yucca Valley. During the investigation, deputies discovered three armed suspects entered the occupied residence by force. The suspects assaulted the victim and stole property from the home before fleeing the scene. Over a period of ten days, detectives and the Town of Yucca Valley Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) members developed numerous investigative leads as additional crimes were identified. Donald Dora, Derek Martin, and Mark Hines were identified as being responsible for the residential robbery. Detectives served a series of search and arrest warrants throughout the Morongo Basin in an attempt to recover stolen property and locate the suspects. Martin and Hines were taken into custody.

During the evening of May 7, a traffic enforcement stop was initiated on a vehicle in the Town of Yucca Valley. During the traffic stop, Dora was taken into custody without incident. Several firearms and ammunition were recovered during the investigation. Dora, Martin, and Hines were arrested and booked for Residential Robbery. Deputies were assisted by additional resources provided by the Sheriff’s Department Gangs- Narcotics and Aviation Divisions. Detectives are actively working other leads related to additional crimes committed by the suspects.
