Man Stabbed At The Best Western Hotel

INCIDENT: Assault With A Deadly Weapon
LOCATION: 7100 block of Palo Alto Ave, Yucca Valley
SUSPECT(S): Drew Childs, 33-year old resident of Yucca Valley
VICTIM(S): Osbaldo Ramirez

SUMMARY: On Monday, July 31, at approximately 1:41 a.m, Deputy Millan was dispatched to a stabbing at the Best Western Hotel, located in the 56000 block of Twentynine Palms Highway, Yucca Valley. Millan discovered Osbaldo Ramirez with a large laceration to the right side of his neck. Ramirez was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center, in Palm Springs, for treatment. It was later discovered the stabbing occurred in the 7100 block of Palo Alto Avenue, Yucca Valley. During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Drew Childs. Deputy Brandt attempted to contact Childs at his residence. However, Childs fled the location on foot. Childs was arrested following a short foot pursuit.

Childs was booked into Morongo Basin Jail, for PC 245; assault with a deadly weapon.
