The Democrat’s new gas tax imposes a $5.2 billion tax increase on Californians to allegedly fund transportation. This slaps us with a 12.5 cent/gallon gas tax increase, a 20 cent/gallon diesel excise tax increase, increases the annual vehicle registration tax $25-$175, and creates a $100 per year fee on zero emission vehicles. This tax disproportionately impacts low income and middle-class families, will increase the price of goods, and will do nothing to ease congestion or help clean our air! It is a #GasTaxtrophe!

If you’re interested in attending a #GasTaxtrophe event please contact John Freeman at jfreeman@cagop.org

We are excited to share with you that #GasTaxtrophe is gaining momentum, and we have more than 45 events planned and 1,000 people attending throughout the state. With your help, we expect this will continue to grow!

The Lincoln Club has begun gathering information and resources to educate and develop plans to address this incredible burden on our residents and citizens. You can visit and share this info at …

Legislative Democrats are going to have a tough pull with voters. This tax is one of the most repressive taxes in California history. Voters will get a second poke in the eye every year with the doubling of vehicle license taxes. It shall suck the life from tens of thousand seniors, students, families, struggling war hero and veterans. These taxes will punch me in the gut every time I gas up, and renew my licenses. I will remember Jerry Brown betrayed me and hundreds thousands of us who have supported him. We in California pay more tax in total than those early Americans who were mad as hell and didn’t take it anymore.

Pretty much we are helpless. The ballot box is a slow process… you keep voting, keep hoping for someone to come a long who does more good for people as a public servant. Someone who can stand proudly and proclaim no more group think, no more going along to get along, no more new taxes, assessments or fees.
