JOSHUA TREE, CA — The Hi-Desert Playhouse presents its second Reader’s Theater production of the 2017-2018 season with Laurel Haines’ THE DIANALOGUES.  Through a series of monologues, THE DIANALOGUES creates a mosaic of eleven women from various backgrounds including a Princess Di impersonator to a homicidal cabbie!  These women don’t know each other but they have one thing in common: each of the women were touched deeply by the 20th century fairytale life and death of the “People’s Princess.”  The Playhouse’s newest reader’s theater production will play one performance only this Friday, February 23rd at 7pm as part of its award-winning Reader’s Theater Series at the Hi-Desert Cultural Center.
Playwright Laurel Haines serves up a royal evening with moments of observant wit from celebrity impersonators cashing-in on dead icons to the touching vulnerability of a mid-western housewife sharing her plans to find Diana alive and offer her a quiet and private life in her Duluth home guest room.  Directed by Jeanette Knight, the cast of THE DIANALOGUES stars Amy Angel, DJ Briggs, Dawn Davis, Deborah Dunaway, Sue Neal, Jeannie Reichert-Jorgensen, Jasmine Shaffer, Elizabeth Grace Schmelling, Cindy Snyder, Ann Van Haney and Gloria-Joy Yeaton.
Where directors, playwrights, and actors rehearse and present exceptional reader’s theater, the Playhouse’s “Fridays! Reader’s Theater Series” showcases superb acting talent in a professional setting with an intent to create thoughtful discussion and social community for live theater actors and enthusiasts.  THE DIANALOGUES has a suggested rating of “PG” and no children under 5 are admitted.  General admission tickets are only $10 and include one drink ticket.  A cash bar is also available.
To purchase tickets or for more information patrons may visit, visit the Hi-Desert Cultural Center Box Office in person Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm, or call the Box Office at 760.366.3777.  The Hi-Desert Cultural Center is located at 61231 Hwy 62 in Joshua Tree, CA.
