Landers, Morongo Basin – Morongo Basin’s second annual Labor Day Fair and Fireworks Spectacular is Saturday, September 1 at Homestead Valley Park in Landers. Everyone is invited to celebrate American labor and the end of summer with food, fun, fireworks, and family entertainment.

Gates open at 4 p.m. Enjoy the country western sounds of Cinch. The Marine Corps Color Guard will present the colors at a 7:30 p.m. opening ceremony. Then Cinch returns to the outdoor stage with their own down-home Western sound until dark when the skies light up with Morongo Basin’s only Labor Day fireworks spectacular.

Admission is free, but donations of school supplies will be collected for students K through grade 6 at Landers Elementary School. There will be a bounce house, face painting, and games for kids. Meet the paramedics and see the emergency equipment from Morongo Basin Ambulance and San Bernardino County Fire Department. For those 21 and over with ID there will be ice-cold Beer and Rotary Margaritas.

“Everyone will enjoy the largest fireworks spectacular in Landers history,” said founder Chris Gubler. “To enhance the experience, the firework show will all be synchronized to summer-themed music,” Gubler added.

Entry and street parking are free; VIP parking will be available for a $5 donation. Homestead Valley Park is at 1501 Belfield Blvd. in Landers.

Proceeds from the concessions will benefit Homestead Valley Park, the Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary Club, and other local non-profits. Vendor and non-profit exhibit spaces are still available; call 760-333-2707 for information.

Backpacks, outside food and beverages, coolers and tailgating are strictly prohibited.

The 2018 Labor Day Fair and Fireworks Spectacular will include a brief tribute to the memory of long-time community booster and supporter Joanna Wright. This year’s fair and fireworks spectacular are made possible by the generous support and sponsorship of the Family of San Bernardino Third District County Supervisor James Ramos, and the Gubler Family.
