All Morongo Unified Schools Are Closed due to Covid-19

We understand that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) us a serious concern for you and your family. We that you for your patience and understanding as we join the efforts to prevent the spread of this illness.

With the guidance of San Bernardino County Public Health and the direction of the San Bernardino County Superintendents Office, beginning March 16, 2020, Superintendent Tom Baumgarten, under the authority
of the Morongo Unified School District Board of Education, will close MUSD schools until March 20, 2020, with the expectation that it will be extended. An update will be provided. This necessary action is an effective way to disrupt the spread of COVID-19.

Beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, all school building activities including school day instruction, health services, enrichment programs, sports etc. are canceled until further notice.

All Certificated and Classified Employees of the District will report to their assigned site to perform their duties to the degree possible.
Nutrition The District will have an emergency food nutrition plan which will be put into place on Monday, March 16, 2020. We will be distributing “grab-and-go” cold meals Monday-Friday at the designated locations that
will be listed in a future notification. All students will be offered free lunch and breakfast in a combined package during each pick up.

Our incredible teachers, school staff, school leaders, and support staff have been unrelenting in their commitment to students during this time. We appreciate everyone’s continued support to our community, children, and families.

Superintendent Baumgarten will continue to collaborate with the city, state, and local officials and partners as our entire state responds to new guidance and a call to take an active role combating COVID-19.

Please remember, we will continue to provide you with the most up-to-date information on both our website and our social media account. The situation still continues to remain fluid and we appreciate your patience as we work together to protect the health and safety of our students, staff and community.
