INCIDENT: Criminal Threats to a School

LOCATION: Yucca Valley High School

SUSPECT: 16-year-old male student

SUMMARY:
On Thursday, February 22, 2018, Yucca Valley High School received information regarding a student making threats to carry out a school shooting. Deputy Armando Cantu, assigned as a Juvenile Deputy for the Town of Yucca Valley, responded to the school for investigation. Deputy Cantu spoke to multiple juveniles, who confirmed the threats were made. Deputy Cantu went to the student’s residence and located two firearms. The firearms were seized for evidence, and the student was arrested. The student was booked into Central Juvenile Hall in San Bernardino, for a violation of Penal Code 422, Criminal Threats.
