A Twentynine Palms resident leads deputies on a pursuit

INCIDENT: CVC 2800.2(a): Felony Evading Warrant Arrest
LOCATION: 73600 Block of Sunnyvale Drive, Twentynine Palms
SUSPECT: Jerome Eads, 23 years old, resident of Twentynine Palms

On May 4, 2017 at about 12:22 a.m., Deputy S. Lenihan observed a white BMW with no license plates at the intersection of Adobe Road and Twentynine Palms Highway in the City of Twentynine Palms. Lenihan initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. The driver drove recklessly in residential zones and failed to stop at multiple stop signs. The driver lost control near the 73600 block of Sunnyvale Drive where the vehicle spun out and became disabled. The driver, and only occupant, exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Lenihan caught the suspect at a house on Sunnyslope Drive and took the suspect into custody without further incident. The driver was later identified as Jerome Eads.

Eads was arrested and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail for violation of CVC 2800.2(a)- Felony Evading and is being held without bail for violation of Post-Release Community Supervision (PRCS).
