16 year old male from 29 Palms was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle following a foot pursuit

LOCATION: Aztec Avenue and Crestview Drive, Twentynine Palms
SUSPECT(S): Juvenile, 16 years old, resident of Twentynine Palms

SUMMARY: On Sunday, July 30, 2017, at about 6:30 a.m., Deputy Carlos from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Morongo Basin Station conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevy Silverado, in the area of Aztec Avenue and Crestview Drive, in the city of Twentynine Palms.

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as a 16-year-old juvenile, fled from the vehicle on foot. The juvenile ran westbound into a dirt lot. The juvenile was arrested after a short foot pursuit. After further investigation, the black Chevy Silverado was a stolen vehicle, which had not been reported yet. Deputy Carlos was able to return the vehicle to the registered owner.

The juven ile also had No-Bail Warrant, for an unspecified offense, out of San Bernardino County. The juvenile was booked at San Bernardino Central Juvenile Hall for the warrant and possession of a stolen vehicle.
